The basic function of a nursing necklace is to keep your baby's attention whilst they breast or bottle-feed, to try to prevent the inevitable hair pulling, pinching and scratching. My baby also enjoyed my nursing necklace during social interaction and I used it to keep him occupied, e.g. whilst waiting in the baby clinic.

This necklace is made with delightful bright and colourful acrylic  beads and the cross (approx 1 inch) is made from strong faceted acrylic to draw baby's attention.  I have several coloured crosses available. Please email for further details.

All my jewellery is specifically made with safety in mind from attractive non-toxic acrylic beads and individually designed to stimulate your baby. They are strung on ultra strong cord tested to 100 lbs breaking strain and are knotted to minimise loss of beads in the unlikely event of a breakage. This is NOT a baby teether, therefore there is no need to sterilise it. It can be wiped clean with a baby wipe or a dilute solution of Milton.

When I started breastfeeding I had to put away my beautiful delicate silver cross as I was fearful that it would break, but at the same time I wanted my baby to be able to handle the cross and feel the connection with it. I believe that I have found a happy medium. I can continue to wear my cross, it gives my baby pleasure and best of all I know it is safe for him to pull on and tug.
